Announcing our 2019 Keynote Speakers!


This presentation will examine social worker burnout and resilience strategies. The impact of burnout on service delivery as school social workers will also be discussed. It will examine reasons why social workers engage in self-neglect along with the cultural and stereotypical barriers to self-care, some of which are gender-based, will be reviewed. Strategies and best practices for engaging in effective self-care will be reviewed. Ways to experience joy in social work service will be outlined. Audience members will be invited to evaluate their current self-care plans’ effectiveness and make changes to the plans to support resilience as social workers in schools. 2.0 SW-CEHs



This session is intended for a K-12 audience of school social workers who would like to learn more about how to embed Trauma-Informed PBIS strategies into their schools and classrooms. Tier 1 interventions that school professionals can easily implement to create classrooms where resilience is nurtured will be discussed. Participants will learn practical ways to foster resilience in students and manage behavior in the classroom using Trauma-Informed PBIS. The expanding role of the SSW will also be discussed. 2.0 SW-CEHs
